Let’s wake up women and move forward.
Let’s, fight for our rights and freedom,
Be the change makers we aspire to be.
Move beyond the walls of our home,
And seek more than the kitchen smoke.
Let us, break out of our boundary and hiding shell,
And do what the lawmakers haven’t been able to do.
Let us, see ourselves for the wonder women we are,
Able to bash the wrong doers and abusers.
Come women, be the writers of laws, freeing men,
From the chains of alcohol, cards and betel.
Let us unite and carry ourselves forward,
And be the phenomenal women we each are.

A woman left battered and broken,
Raped and forced seeks you to be awoken.
Violence, theft and crime everywhere,
You are to be seen no where.
A son took his last breath fighting in a war,
Leaving behind a mother in tears.
Always overlooking the sinner,
You have blamed us, the poorer.
Earthquake has left us like a wrecked train
Who will you blame for this misery and pain?
A year passed by,
Living under broken and cold homes,
Living under rain dripping roofs,
Yet you have left us to embrace our doom.
A girl with an unforgiving fate
Awaits for your arrival date
How will you come to help?
When will you come to help?

“Please let me in.” she screamed, “I am afraid of the darkness. These bedbugs and flies. I can’t bear the pain of the mosquito bites. The rats and the smell…”
My heart pounded when Sita Devi said this to her parent. 12 years old girl from Tulsipur VDC of Accham district was forced to live in chhaupadi hut during menstruation. The complications that will come.....
