Shyam Sunder Sharma

Board Member

Shyam Sundar Sharma is currently working as a Governance Key Expert for Nepal EU Action for Recovery and Reconstruction (NEARR). He has over 40 years of experience serving the Government of Nepal in various positions, including as a Joint Secretary at the time of retirement. He has served in expert positions in various governmental and bilateral agencies. He specializes in governance, public management, local development, GESI, policy formulation, capacity development, etc. Mr. Sharma completed an MBA and MPA from Tribhuwan University of Nepal and MPA from the Surrey University of UK. He is also the author of more than 15 books on public administration, management, human resources development, professionalism in bureaucracy. He brings his years-long experience to Visim in supporting the institutionalization of the organization, enhancing organization visibility and network and gender-friendly program development.

Medha Sharma

President

Medha Sharma has 10 years of experience in the non-profit sector, especially in the areas of Advocacy, Grants Management, Research, Gender, and Development. She has a strong passion for social uplift through social activism. In 2014, she served as Grant Management Fellow at Nike Foundation, Oregon USA under Atlas Corps Fellowship. Earlier, she worked as Capacity Development Specialist at Health 4 Life Logistic /USAID and as Program Coordinator at YUWA. She has represented Nepal and served in the working committee of several national and international forums such as ICPD+25 Nairobi Summit, 52nd sessions of CPD 2019, Nepal's 6th periodic review of CEDAW 2018, HLPF 2017, New Generation Leadership Strategy of UNAIDS, Women Deliver Global Conference 2013 and 2016, ICAAP Country Focal Point, 2014, South Asian Regional Youth Conference 2014, etc. She possesses International Masters in Public Health from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

Shilpa Lamichhane

Board Member

Shilpa Lamichhane joined Visible Impact’s board in 2018. She is a licensed public health professional and has completed her Master’s degree in Public Health from Central Department of Public Health, Institute of Medicine, T.U. She is a young believer in social change and works for young people’s health and rights. She believes young people are the future of society but they are also very much its present. She wants to see young people grow and have meaningful participation in planning and implementation of projects or policies that affects them. Previously, she worked as a Program Officer at Visible Impact where she involved herself in projects concerning sexual and reproductive health and rights of young people, research activities, creating position papers on young people’s issues, training young people, advocating at national and regional advocacy spaces like APCRSHR, Shedecides event, APFSD and now she is also working as a Program Manager at Visible Impact.

Rayala Adhikaree

Board Member

Rayala Adhikaree joined Visible Impact’s board in 2020. She is a recent graduate of Bachelors in Microbiology, T.U. She is currently working as a program officer at Sarbonnati Nepal. Though she is a student of microbiology she has a keen interest in exploring different aspects of society and believes that every individual can contribute to the development of society. She strongly believes in the principle of “Youth empowering Youth” and aims to work for the betterment of youths.

Sadikshya Subedi

Board Member

Involved in our organization as a board member since 2015 Sadikshya Subedi is a recent law( B.A.L.L.B) graduate from Nepal Law Campus, T.U and has represented Nepal in different legal debates and competitions around the world, including in Nepal, Pakistan, Netherlands, and Indonesia during her studies. Moreover, Sadikshya has been involved in different philanthropic activities for uplifting those deprived of fundamental rights, being a firm believer of gender and social equality.

Medha Sharma

Deepa Lamichhane

Finance Officer, Engagement and Operations (Past)

Deepa Lamichhane-23 has always had a liking for numbers. Since her schooling, accounting profession was of big interest to her. No surprise then, that ACCA was an obvious choice. She is BBS graduate in Accounting from Tribhuwan University and an aspiring Chartered Accountant. She started her career  as Audit Trainee in an Audit firm and carry total 18 months of  Audit work experience in diverse sectors (Development Sector, Private Sector & Various Financial Institutions). She always believes in grabbing the opportunity it comes through. Now she is working as a Finance Officer in Visible Impact. She has big plans for her future. She believes in developing her personal brand with lots of hard work and dedication. In the next three to five years she would like to see herself grow and learn all that she can in her current position and then take the next step forward in career into more of a leadership role. If she could sum up success in three words they would be; hard work, faith and determination.

Laxman Bhattarai

Senior Program Officer, Solutions and Impact (Past)

Laxman Bhattarai is a Public Health graduate who has been working in the field of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights since 2017. Working for the issues of girls, women and young people from diverse groups has broadened his knowledge and perception on the existent issues and has motivated him to carry on in this field. He believes “working is a part of everyone’s life but what’s important is to reflect upon the learnings attained through this phase and apply it to improve yourself and grow.”

Shibu Shrestha

Senior Program Officer, Solutions and Impact (Past)

Shibu Shrestha, a recent graduate of Bachelors in Public Health, started working in SRHR after the earthquake in 2015 in Nepal. Her journey started as a peer educator in post disaster situation and since then she has been working with young people and advocating for SRHR. She feels that SRHR needs to be talked about in the open and not be enclosed under taboos. She has a deep interest in research, exploring data and drawing valuable conclusions from them to develop better plans. At Visim, she looked after projects on menstrual health management, family planning and advocacy. She aspires for inclusivity in all her actions.

Sabina Pokhrel

Senior Program Officer, Solutions and Impact (Past)

Sabina Pokhrel, 25, is a graduate of Public Health from Pokhara University . Passionate and driven, she started her journey in Visible Impact as a Program Associate and now as a Program Officer has been coordinating projects concerning young people’s sexual and reproductive health and rights. She is also SheDecides 25x25 young leader -Generation of Change. As a young leader, she has been advocating for young people’s SRHR in national and regional platforms. She enjoys working with young people because she believes that they are the change makers and leaders of today and tomorrow.

Sushant Phuyal

Operations Associate, Engagement and Operations (Past)

Sushant Phuyal, 21, was a BASW student at  Xavier International College. He is currently in his third year. Through his work at Visim as an Operation Associate, he has been able to learn about financial proceedings as well as operations in an organization. He is glad and happy to be a part of the such association (Visible Impact) and always wanted to work with youth for the better development of the nation as well as the world.

Manisha Chaudhary

Admin Assistant, Engagement and Operations

Manisha Chaudhary is from Dang and had completed her SLC from Dang as well. At Visim, she looks after office maintenance as well as maintenance of store.

Eesha Sharma

Finance Officer, Engagement and Operations (Past)

Eesha Sharma has experience of 10 years in Accounting, Tax Consultancy with a demonstrated history of working in the accounting industry. She is specially Skilled in Tax Advisory, Audit, Accounting & Finance Management. From 2009 to 2012 she served as Article Trainee in CSC & Co, Chartered Accountant. Later on she continued in the same firm as associate until 2014. From 2014 to 2018 she worked as Account officer in Nirmal Associated, Chartered Accountant & Biz Serve Outsourcing Pvt. Ltd. During her working period in Chartered Accountant Firms, she got experience to work in different institutions (private companies, NGOs/INGOs , Banking & Financial Institutions, Private and Public Sector Entities). Eesha Sharma completed an MBS from Tribhuwan University of Nepal with major in Finance. She is also Semi-Qualified Chartered Accountant who is studying Chartered Accountant form Institute of Chartered Accountant of Nepal (ICAN).

Prakash Pathak

Program Associate, Solutions and Impact (Past)

Prakash Pathak,25, has a bachelor’s degree in Public Health from the Institute of Medicine, Tribhuvan University. He is a public health enthusiast who always wants to explore the different aspects of society and their association with physical, mental, and social dimensions of health. He envisions a society where there are equal opportunities for all people regardless of their ethnicity, religion, sexuality, race, and economic status. Previously, he was involved in different projects that were targeted to youth, people with disabilities, women of reproductive age, etc. where he gathered diverse experience in the field of sexual and reproductive health and rights; which has always triggered and motivated him to work for young people.  

Dipesh Limbu

Senior Program Officer, Solutions and Impact

Dipesh Limbu, Public health graduate has always been motivated in working with the issues that young people often come across and are considered taboo to talk about in society. Issues related to mental health and SRHR are always considered nonacceptable to discuss with the community and even with the family, which increased his interest in SRHR and mental health as these issues have created deleterious effects in many young people. Being involved in many workshops and seminars related to SRHR has broadened his horizon and has been actively working with young people since 2013, and intent to continue working with the belief that one day issues related to SRH will be normalized to discuss and every youth have access to the services related to SRH.

Pratigya Kayastha

Program Officer, Solutions and Impact

Pratigya Kayastha, 24 years old recent graduate in Public Health from Tribhuwan University has experience in research, community development activities, and project management. She likes to call herself a Public Health Learner and aspires to pursue a career in health research one day. Currently working as a Program Officer at Visible Impact and involved in youth development platforms, she always looks for opportunities that she can be a part of as she believes it helps one to connect to new people, learn, explore, discover and gain the experiences they never had before, which contributes to their overall general development.

Ruben Shrestha

Admin & Finance Officer, Engagement and Operations (Past)

Ruben Shrestha, 28, has experience of 5 years in the field of Accounting, Taxation, and Auditing. During his working period, he got to work in different institutions. He has diversified knowledge in accounting and auditing of different sectors (Private & Public companies, hotels, insurance companies, hydropower, Government companies, banking sectors, NGOs). He served as Article in Soni Gulati & Co, Chartered Accountant for 3 years located in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh. He worked as an Associate in K.U.S & Associates, Chartered Accountants for 2 years in Kathmandu and also as branch head in Itahari, Sunsari. He has completed B.com from Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) of India majoring in Accounts and Finance. He is pursuing his dream of becoming a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI).

Saurav Tamrakar

Program Associate, Solutions and Impact (Past)

Saurav Tamrakar, 23, is a young and enthusiastic mind in the field of Public Health. He carries a history of volunteering experiences in different programs, projects, and events supporting sexual and reproductive health and rights since 2017. Saurav supports all gender identities and advocates for equality in people regardless of theirs gender. He also served as an energetic member at Youth Advocates Leadership Council where he was involved in SRHR advocacy through CSE. He also shares a soft spot for people with disabilities and aims to make their lives easier by empowering them in livelihood via supportive projects. He believes that involvement of youth and volunteerism in the development sector is essential for achieving the global goals and for this he wishes to reach out to as many youths as possible so that he can share the knowledge he gains to influence them into health promotion and health advocacy.

Manisha Thapa

Program Officer, Solutions and Impact

Manisha, a permanent resident of Bhaktapur, is a Bachelor in Public Health and Bachelor in Arts graduate. Holding a dire passion towards causes like gender, governance, climate, and sustainability, she calls herself an eco-feminist. Having worked only at feminist organizations she says she has been lucky enough in that case and adds that the experience has been profound. In the near future, she aspires to contribute to redefining Nepal's public health arena.

Arpit Basnet

Admin & Finance Officer, Engagement and Operations

Arpit Basnet, 25 yrs, is Semi Qualified Chartered accountant who is studying CA Final from Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, second largest Accounting body in the world. He has worked 3 years in N Tatia and Associates one of leading CA firm in Bangalore. He has diversified knowledge in the field of Accounting, Taxation and Auditing. He has done work in the field of Internal & Statutory Audit of Public & Private Companies, Statutory Bank Audit, Accounting of multiple companies and financial reporting, Insolvency and Bankruptcy code of 3 companies, Due Diligence, Investment banking and tax related work, Goods and services Tax (GST). He has also completed BCOM (in finance) from Indira Gandhi Open University and currently pursuing MCOM in Economics from Indira Gandhi Open University. He belives in 3 principles of life Challenge it, Achieve It and Loop it.

Prasansha Acharya

I love working at the intersections of gender, climate, and investments. I am passionate about advocating for the rights of women and girls around the world. I’m dedicated to living within the earth’s limits. I believe that women entrepreneurs are reshaping the future of business and innovation through technology-driven social impact. I am an undergraduate student of finance, currently working at Visible Impact as Program & Operations assistant. I love new ideas, changing the order of things, connecting with people, and solving problems. My personal mission is to empower women-centered innovations with a focus on gender lens investing.

Garima Pant

Grants Associate, Innovation and Partnership (Past)

Garima Pant has completed her Bachelor’s in Development Studies from National College affiliated with Kathmandu University. Addressing climate change and promoting women's empowerment are two causes that are significant to Garima. She is a firm believer in the importance of youth and women’s participation in leadership positions, and the need to prioritize female health issues in developing countries like Nepal. She thrives in a positive environment and enjoys working with people from different backgrounds.

Aakriti Khanal

Operations Assistant, Engagement and Operations (Past)

Aakriti has completed her PCL Nursing from the Paropakar Nursing Campus affiliated with the National Academy of Medical Science (NAMS). Currently, she is working as the Operations Assistant at Visible Impact. She firmly believes in learning by doing and thinks everything is achievable through strong willpower. In the future, she sees herself serving patients in the rural communities of Nepal.

Urja Humagain

Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) Officer, Solutions and Impact

Urja Humagain is a recent graduate with a Bachelor's Degree in Public Health. She is interested in issues of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights and gender equality. She advocates for the meaningful participation of young people in decision-making at all levels and has been involved in the development sector for three years.

Anoushka Shrestha

Anoushka Shrestha graduated with a degree in Public Health from Pokhara University. She is currently employed as a Program Associate at Visible Impact. Her Bachelor's degree has enhanced her interpersonal skills and improved her abilities in data collection, analysis, and report writing. Additionally, her education has given her a deeper understanding of the role of NGOs in promoting social change. Ultimately, her long-term goal is to assist her country by working as a public health professional who contributes to guiding public health and medical care to interrupt disease pathways and improve population health and patient outcomes.

Anusha Parajuli

Anusha Parajuli is a graduate of public health from the School of Health and Allied Sciences, Pokhara University. Her research activities and work experience till date have helped her notice that women face disparities and are deprioritized when resources are limited. Having a keen interest in women's and child’s health, rights, and health system resilience, she has invested herself in the same arena and is motivated to learn and grow. Currently, she is engaged at Visible Impact as a Grant Officer where she proposes to seek funding for activities related to Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights.

Shristi Khadka

Shristi Khadka is a recent Public Health graduate who has been involved in various not-for-profit youth organizations that prioritize social reforms and gender equity, and whose primary advocacy has been promoting public health for the past our years. She has been working as a freelance content writer. Among her interests are meeting new individuals, reading, learning from their thoughts, and imparting knowledge in her capacity. This drives her passion for community upliftment activities and peer education. As someone who began with volunteering, she identifies herself as an empathetic leader. She enjoys being a bookworm and on the contrary indulges in human interactions, which makes her a full-time creative researcher.

Enisha Pathak

Enisha Pathak is an MBA graduate specializing in finance from the School of Management, Tribhuvan University. She has contributed to the finance and account team at CGmotors and at Neo Software as a functional consultant. Currently, she is engaged as a finance and admin associate at Visible Impact. She has a passion for learning and thrives on new challenges each day.

Dr. Madhavi Singh Shah

Advisor

Dr. Madhavi Singh Shah is a Professor of Economics and Former Head of Central Department of Economics, Tribhuvan University. Currently, she is chairing a research oriented social organization 'Rahat', a focal point of International alliance for Human Responsibilities /AR21. She is affiliated with various academic institutions and social organizations. Her Area of specialization is Gender and Development. Her Ph.D. thesis on 'Problems and Prospects of Female Industrial Workers in Urban Centers' enabled her to scrutinize the narrow access and deprivation of women in the economy. In fact, her Ph.D. thesis on female industrial workers is yet another brick on the foundation that she has laid in course of her endeavor to contribute in the sector of women's right. Despite, her academic profession, she grabs extensive experience in social development sectors. She holds, the opportunities to work with various national and international organizations regarding the issues of girls trafficking, labour migration, resettlement and rehabilitation packages and many more other upcoming concerns. Her works in various academic and development sectors enriched her with, concrete experiences in the fields of research and allied studies. Her articles have been published in many national and international journals concernning on her academic and development experiences.   Recently her two books on ‘globalization and economic accesses’ and ‘human relation ships’ came to light on April 2016.  

Dr. Shyam Sunder Chaudhary

Shyam Sunder Chaudhary completed his PHD from Singhania University, Rajasthan, India on  Social Inclusion in Civil Service through Public Service Commission Nepal, and holds M. A. in Sociology from Tri-Chandra College, Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu. Mr. Chaudhary has over 16 years of experience in academic sector, and is currently the Principal of Silkroad International College in Nepal, which has enriched his expertise on teaching-learning attitude and psychology of adolescents and young people which is imperative in designing beneficiary partnered innovative programs with young people. He also composes and publishes music in his leisure time, and has released two albums already.
