Shyam Sundar Sharma, 62, has over 3O years experience serving the Government of Nepal in various positions, as a Joint Secretary at the latest, in policy formulation and implementation including local level engagement in socio-economic development. Currently, he is a freelancer professional focussed on program development and capaciy development in the area of peace and development,GESI, governance and public management,  local development and election management. Currently, he is formulating National Master Plan on ending child labour for ministry of labour and employment with the technical and financial support of ILO. He is involved in a professional team as a capacity development expert to assess and design capacity development program to Department of Women and Children in the area of planning, monitoring, reporting and budgeting areas. Earlier, he has worked with EU TA team as a senior capacity development manager to support to Nepal Peace Trust Fund for program and project formulation, management and designing and implementing capacity development programs. He also served at a GIZ project in Ministry of Peace and Reconstruction, Peace Fund Secretariat in the area of capacity development. He was Director of Studies in Nepal Administrative Staff College as an professional on training and development of public sector. Mr. Sharma completed MBA and MPA from Tribhuwan University of Nepal and MPA from Surrey University of UK. He is also the author of more than 15 books on public administration, management, human resources development, professionalism in bureaucracy. He brings his years long experience to Visim in supporting the institutionalization of the orgranization, enhancing organization visibility and network and gender friendly program development.

Shilpa Lamichhane, Program Officer, is a Public Health Graduate from National Open College, Pokhara University. She sees her position not only as a job, but also a platform to learn and accumulate valuable experiences. She believes it as a fantastic way to meet other people working in the similar areas and find out about their experiences. She is also working as a “Sarathi” for No shame to Bleed campaign in Visible Impact. She is actively volunteering in every program conducted by Sahayatri Nepal. Also, she had volunteered in “Operation Relief” after the Mega Earthquake in April 2015 organized by Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) in partnership with various organizations and civil society members. She has participated in various workshops and interaction programs. She loves to write articles and blogs about various social issues and experiences. She reflects a varied personality including ambition and a quality of generosity and thoughtfulness. She is also a well determined and vigorous individual yet pleasantly calm.

Deepa Lamichhane

Deepa Lamichhane-23 has always had a liking for numbers. Since her schooling, accounting profession was of big interest to her. No surprise then, that ACCA was an obvious choice. She is BBS graduate in Accounting from Tribhuwan University and an aspiring Chartered Accountant. She started her career  as Audit Trainee in an Audit firm and carry total 18 months of  Audit work experience in diverse sectors (Development Sector, Private Sector & Various Financial Institutions). She always believes in grabbing the opportunity it comes through. Now she is working as a Finance Officer in Visible Impact. She has big plans for her future. She believes in developing her personal brand with lots of hard work and dedication. In the next three to five years she would like to see herself grow and learn all that she can in her current position and then take the next step forward in career into more of a leadership role. If she could sum up success in three words they would be; hard work, faith and determination.

Laxman Bhattarai

Laxman Bhattarai, is a to be Public Health Graduate from Institute of Medicine. He is enthusiastic and outgoing guy who takes pleasure in what he does. He was one of the core members of 28th E.B of NPHSS and has conducted various programs as a coordinator while in his tenure. He is also among the core working group of the project ‘Pariwartan’ which is an international project in collaboration between Frontcare, NPHSS and NMSS. After working for 4 months as a Program Associate in Visim, he currently looks after ‘No Shame TO Bleed’ campaign as a Program Officer. He believes learning comes from every direction and sheer dedication and effort is required if you want to achieve something.

Sameera Gautam an undergraduate of Public Health is pursuing her Bachelors’ degree from Institute of Medicine. Besides her good academic background Sameera has also been able to grab number of working experiences. She served for Nepal Public Health Students Society as a joint secretary of 28th Executive Body. She is also a peer educator and a youth volunteer of FPAN Valley Branch.  Because of her interest in the field of SRHR she completed her internship at Visible Impact and has been working as a program officer.

Ashmita Upreti, 16 years, is currently studying at Class 7 at Kharanitar English Boarding School. Inspired by her mother, who is currently working abroad as labor migrant, Ashmita wants to become an independent woman like her. She aims to become a kindergarten teacher because she loves to be around kids and inspire them. So, she is currently working hard to improve her academics and leadership skills. In her free time, Ashmita loves to sing, write poems and stories and explore new places.

Dristi Tamang, 16 years, aims to rise and shine as a Social Singer, who sings to raise awareness and advocate on social issues. She has been deeply inspired by Anju Panta’s (Leading Female Nepali Singer) voice and is practicing singing to become like her. With her smiling and friendly attitude, she is able to please many, but she believes that she needs to polish her leadership skills. In her free time, she likes to write funny poems and dance. She is currently student of Class 9 at Shree Amarjoyti Higher Secondary School.

Ishwori Thapa

Ishwori Thapa, 14 years, is studying at Class 7 at Shree Amarjoyti Higher Secondary School. She is a good Karate player, but dropped it after earthquake, as her parents were not able to afford it. Inspired by women in police, she wants to become a Policewoman when she grows up. Having seen so many other girls from her village being trapped as labor migrants, she is concerned about this issue and wishes to be able to work for it. She believes that merely academic should not be the focus, and is willing to improve her leadership skills. In her free time, she likes to help her mother with household chores and dance.

Jenisha Shrestha, 15 years, is student of Class 10 at Universal Secondary Boarding School. She has been known as laborious and intelligent student in her class; she loves to study. Her aim is to be become a Nurse, so that one day she can serve people and her nation through it. Her inspiration is her mother who works hard to support her family and motivates her to study well. Furthermore, Jenisha is interested on dancing, reading stories and novels and playing badminton.

Jyoti Upreti 19 years old, recently completed her SLC test from Shree Amarjoyti Higher Secondary School. Her mother’s hand got severely injured during the earthquake and her father is busy with his office, so she has taken all the responsibility of home. She is determined that she will only get married after she becomes independent as she has seen many women of the village got belittled in-laws house because they were not strong and independent enough. Usually at leisure, she likes listening to music and watching T.V. She wants to become accountant in future, but would continue to be a social activist. She believes that her confident and motivation towards social service will help her keep facing challenges in life.

Karuna Poudel, 17 years, is studying in class 12 at Shree Amarjoyti Higher Secondary School, Kharanitar. She wants to become a teacher for Major English after her education. She also wishes to go to Australia to persue her higher education. She understands that it is illegal to get married before 2O years, and being the first child of her parents, she wants to become independent first before getting married, so that she can be the leader examplar for other girls of the village. Monika Upreti, 15 years old, considers Stephen Hawking as her role model and is inspired by the extent of his innovation that have help make life better for so many people, despite he being handicapped. When she saw her community flattened by earthquake, she was determined to become an engineer and rebuild her community. Her mother is a Female Community Health Volunteer and she also wants to dedicate her life for others and become a genuine social activist. She is studying in Class 10 at Shree Amarjoyti Higher Secondary School and likes to read and write poem at her free time.

Phulmaya Tamang, 14 years, studies at Shree Amarjoyti Higher Secondary School. Her school was damaged by earthquake, so their classes are running at a temporary area. She saw many suffering at her village due to earthquake and so wants to become a nurse when she grows up. Her father is a labor migrant, but still taking good care of their family. She wants to be a hard working person like her father. She spends most of her time playing at school, but wants to control that habit and start focusing more in her study.

Her role model is Rekha Thapa (Nepali female actor) who is very good at what she does; Rita wants to be courageous and inspiring like Rekha. She is also a taekwondo player, she have won various local level titles till this date.

Sushmita Upreti, 12 years, is studying in class 7 at Kharanitar English Boarding School. She is one of the top intelligent student in her class and she want to grow up to become an independent woman. Infact, she does not even want to get married, but rather take care of her parents. Her mother, who is aboard as labor migrant, is her role model. But, unlike her mother she does not want to go abroad, as she believes many women in the village have faced violence while working abroad. Since she does not have any brother, she wants to be the breadwinner of the family and prove that daughter can also support their family as son does. Her aim is to be Nurse because she was deeply touched by the dedication of a nurse that took good care of her when she was sick. Her hobies are to write poem and stories, and play badminton and football.

Dr. Madhavi Singh Shah is a Professor of Economics and Former Head of Central Department of Economics, Tribhuvan University. Currently, she is chairing a research oriented social organization 'Rahat', a focal point of International alliance for Human Responsibilities /AR21. She is affiliated with various academic institutions and social organizations. Her Area of specialization is Gender and Development. Her Ph.D. thesis on 'Problems and Prospects of Female Industrial Workers in Urban Centers' enabled her to scrutinize the narrow access and deprivation of women in the economy. In fact, her Ph.D. thesis on female industrial workers is yet another brick on the foundation that she has laid in course of her endeavor to contribute in the sector of women's right. Despite, her academic profession, she grabs extensive experience in social development sectors. She holds, the opportunities to work with various national and international organizations regarding the issues of girls trafficking, labour migration, resettlement and rehabilitation packages and many more other upcoming concerns. Her works in various academic and development sectors enriched her with, concrete experiences in the fields of research and allied studies. Her articles have been published in many national and international journals concernning on her academic and development experiences.   Recently her two books on ‘globalization and economic accesses’ and ‘human relation ships’ came to light on April 2016.  

Dr. Shyam Sunder Chaudhary

Shyam Sunder Chaudhary completed his PHD from Singhania University, Rajasthan, India on  Social Inclusion in Civil Service through Public Service Commission Nepal, and holds M. A. in Sociology from Tri-Chandra College, Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu. Mr. Chaudhary has over 16 years of experience in academic sector, and is currently the Principal of Silkroad International College in Nepal, which has enriched his expertise on teaching-learning attitude and psychology of adolescents and young people which is imperative in designing beneficiary partnered innovative programs with young people. He also composes and publishes music in his leisure time, and has released two albums already.

Aney Rijal

Aney Rijal, 19 is an energetic youth with strong motivation to bring positive change in community people. She completed her schooling in Gyankunj Higher Secondary School, Ravibhawan and her high schooling from Kathmandu Bernhardt Higher Secondary School, Balkhu. She is currently pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in Public health (BPH) from Institute of Medicine. Her interests are youth development, environment sustainability and quality of life. She is a member at Nepal Public Health Students’ Society and council member at ‘We’ for CHANGE. She was actively involved in taking sessions about HIV and AIDS to transportation workers of 150 routes of Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur district, spreading information about associated risk factors, eliminating social stigma, sharing the stories and ways of prevention in which she cleared the prevalent misconception about Sexually Transmitted Infections. She had volunteered in “Second National Summit of Health and Population Scientist in Nepal” organized by Nepal Health Research Council (NHRC). She had worked as a volunteer in International Medical Corps as assistant in mobile medical unit and health promoter in Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, Dhading and Gorkha District. She has got leadership skills for engaging others to innovate and reach the specified goals. Besides, volunteering activities she is also passionate in traditional art. Currently, she is working in Visible Impact as Sarathi for “No Shame to Bleed” campaign; conducting school based menstrual health workshops. Prabin Karki

Prabin Karki, studying Bachelor in Public Health in Maharajgunj Medical Campus, Institute of Medicine (IOM), is a dynamic and energetic person. He joined public health after completing +2 from Morgan International College with the aim of working in public health sector. In short period of time, after joining undergraduate, he has been exposed to various program on health sectors as well as social sectors. He became the member of Nepal Public Health Students’ Society and has been actively participating in various public health programs. He had participated in reaching out young mind (ROYM), an interactive workshop on HIV and AIDS organized by YUWA. He coordinated first aid training program organized by PSRN and also took first aid training. He also participated in “uterine prolapse training project” conducted by PSRN at lamgunj district. Recently, he took part in “Youth SDGs Consultation Workshop” organized by SDGs Youth Alliance. He is intellectual, calm and diversified person. He has good ability to work in team.

Prakash Pathak is aged 21, Currently pursuing bachelor’s degree in public health from Institute of Medicine, Maharajgunj Medical Campus, he is an energetic and versatile youth working actively in the issues of women’s health and their development. He has involved himself in various workshops regarding women issues like HIV/AIDS, Safe abortion, uterine prolapse conducted by various organizations like YUWA, Nepal Public Health Students’ Society (NPHSS), Physician for Social Responsibility Nepal(PSRN) and Youth Champions Advocacy Network (YCAN). He is member of the NPHSS and recently has been working as SARATHI in VISIBLE IMPACT. With vision to bring positive changes in the health of the common people, he has been striving hard to achieve the milestones. He believe change is only possible if it is only started from the change maker .

Pratima Karki, 22 years, final year public health student at central institute of science and technology(CIST). She is proud to have been involved in the field of social upliftment and public health issues. “I choose this because I strongly believe that working through the root is how one can modify and truly affect the misbeliefs and traditions of the society,” Pratima says. Recently she is volunteering in visible impact and also an active member of SARATHI- No Shame to Bleed Campaign. She is interested in promoting empowerment in health matters through education and training, thus integrating healthy behavior, hence empowering community people to take responsibility for their own health and wellbeing. She is calm yet highly motivated to stand up for the rights of those who are disenfranchised because to change something you must take a chance. Her goal is to become a leader for change.

Roshan Neupane

Roshan Neupane, 22 is highly innovative, dynamic and enthusiastic final semester student of Bachelor in Public Health at School of Health and Allied Sciences, Pokhara University. He is always ready to shoulders responsibilities, however complex they are, to accomplish duty in time who always follow time motto “together each achieve more”. He has been working actively in the field of the Public Health Education and Promotion being involved in University and other institution. He has an experience of Treasurer for Association of Pokhara University Public Health Students (APPS) for one year which works in the field of Public Health. He also worked as Research Assistant for one year (July 2014-July 2015) research project entitled "Educational Satisfaction and Career Plan of Public Health Undergraduates: A Study in Nepal". He had participated in different workshops, seminars, trainings, conference and also presented poster in national conference too. Uddhav Khakurel, Sarathhi, joined Visible Impact in September 2016 and is currently studying for his Bachelors in Public Health from Nobel College. His work with Solidarity International in Hope project proves his commitment to educate every child of Nepal. Uddhav is looking forward to learning and exploring through his work with Visible Impact. When not in the office or on workshops, he can be found happily reading Novels at his home and hiking in the hills around Kathmandu valley with his friends.

Sagar Parajuli

Sagar Parajuli, 19, is a Public Health Student of Nobel College. Sagar Parajuli was born in a small village of Nawalparasi and has been in Kathmandu after SLC for higher studies. He is self-motivated person and he believes that "small step towards change bring big change than ever imagined". He has been continuously working for Child rights and youth issues in Nepal involving in different Child and Youth club or organization Network. Due to his remarkful contribution in the society at the age of teen (Below 19), he has been recently awarded as "Top 20 Glocal Teen Hero 2017". Apart from his study, he is Province 4 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Coordinator at Nepal Youth Network on SDGS, Joint Treasurer at Nepal Youth Red Cross Circle-Nobel College, Rover at Nepal Scouts, Member at Jagriti Child and Youth Concern Nepal, Member at SOCHAI-Youth for Nutrition, Member at International Student Environment Coalition (ISEC), Newbie at AIESEC Nepal and also in many more youth organizations. He is always passionate about helping peoples in their own kind.

Sitasma Sharma is an enthusiastic and earnest learner with a broad mindset. Sharma is pursuing her Bachelor's degree in Public Health in Central Institute of Science and Technology after graduating high school from Xavier Academy. She has successfully organized "Nationwide Signature Campaign" at a national level for the awareness of climate change and its effects commenced by the former president of Nepal Mr. Ram Baran Yadav. She has participated in various workshops and seminars on leadership, public speaking and public health problems. She has also conducted School Health Programs on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Sanitation and Personal Hygiene .Currently, she is working in the field of Menstrual Health as a Sarathi.

Sanju Gurung is a public health student studying in Yeti Health Science Academy in second semester.  She completed her proficiency certificate level in General Medicine from B.P Memorial Health science. She has gained experience and exposure in both hospital and community setting during her intermediate course. She has actively volunteered in various programs conducted by NHRC. She wants to work more in community level due to her passion towards social service. Currently she is enrolled in Visible Impact as a Sarathi and has high hopes in developing her leadership skills while in this program.

Anisha Shrestha

Anisha Shrestha, 20 years, is enthusiastic, kind-hearted and highly motivated to bring changes for the children and also the society. She is actively participating in various programs like Awareness on Maternal and Child health Care, Menstrual Health in Teenagers. She volunteered as a coordinator in World Health Day organized by NPHSS. She has been involved in drama and flash mob on different International Days celebration. She is also a member of Rotaract club of Maharajgunj Medical Campus under Rotary Club of Matribhumi Baluwatar and recently has been working as a SARATHI in VISIBLE IMPACT. She believes if you want to change your society you should start from children. Her vision and belief reflects in her love for social work and various programs she conducts.

Barsha Yogi

Barsha Yogi, 20, a girl with full of positive vibes and enthusiasm struggling to uplift the living standard of the vulnerable people. She is currently pursuing her Bachelors in Public Health (BPH) from ManMohan Memorial Institute of Health Sciences. Her interest is to minimize the gap between haves and haves not and also to eradicate the child and elderly labor. She is an active member of 'We for Change' a youth lead organization and actively involved in taking session about HIV and AIDS to transportation workers of Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur district to eliminate social stigma and clear misconceptions about STIs and manage unhealthy sexual behavior. She has also volunteered in the International Youth day supporting 'Youth for Peace' concept organized by Ministry of Youth and Sport with collaboration with different media partners and organizations .She has also actively participated in different flash mobs and other activities related to beat diabetes, fight against TB, HIV/AIDS, as well as on International Condom Day to promote use of condom. She is currently working in Visible Impact as Sarathi for 'No Shame to Bleed' campaign Last but not the least she believes 'Earning money by hard labor can fill your pocket but earning heart by helping helpless fill your soul.

Bismita Ojha

Bismita Ojha, 19, of Basundhara, Kathmandu, is a Public Health student. Since her birth in Sunsari and years spent in Basundhara Kathmandu she has set her goals which were nothing less than her grandest dreams. One of Bismita’s dream is to delicate her life doing good deeds for others. Bismita attended Om Health Campus (4th semester at present), where she tries to make most of her time and participates in as many extracurricular activities as possible. Bismita is a member of Child Marrige & Dowry Eradication National Campaign, Nepal and recently a Sarathi of Visible Impact. She has been very involved in community service with respect to teens and children’s. She loves all sporting and outdoors events, particularly badminton, swimming and listening to music. Bismita has always been very dedicated and hardworking when trying to achieve her goals. She doesn’t let any obstacles get in her way; she perseveres and keeps working hard towards her dream. Bismita hopes one day she will become a Certified Public Health Officer.

Puja Rai

Puja Rai, 20, with the very vision to move forward to accomplish the mission of making economic, social and psychological improvement of marginalized women, children and youths through beneficiary-partnered ,innovative interventions with light of knowledge and force of empowerment. She is currently pursuing Bachelors in Public Health at CIST College. She actively participates in various health awareness programs, advocating menstrual health. Former NCC cadet, Executive member of Public health students association Nepal (cist), has voluntary involvement in various NGOs. She also has conducted speaking and leadership sessions. “Don’t let yourself die before your heart”, and “Better to regret by doing, than to regret for not doing”, is what she believes.

Nirmal Poudel

Nirmal Poudel, 19 is young, energetic, optimistic and curious student of Bachelors in Public Health in Institute of Medicine (IOM), MMC .Besides the academic qualification he is interested in traveling, book reading, painting, dancing, and many more adventurous games. He is equally active in social work and aims to make some positive change in the community and as a whole in the country. He has participated in  “Third National Summit of Health and Population Scientist in Nepal” organized by Nepal Health Research Council (NHRC), International Conference on Child Health and Development in 2017 Conducted by Action Against Hunger (ACF), Workshop on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights, and Workshop on Cyber-Crime, Conducted by YUWA, Coordinator – World TB Day 2017 Conducted by Nepal Public Health Students' Society, Maharajgunj Medical Campus, Institute of Medicine, and he has volunteered in national review on plan and policy 2017,conducted by ministry of Health ( MOH). He is an active member of Nepal Public Health Students’ Society (NPHSS) and due to his keen interest in social work he is being working as vice president at Rotaract club of Maharajgung Medical Campus.       He believes that “To keep the body in good health is a duty otherwise we shall not be able to keep our mind strong and clear”.

He is originally from Baglung and is currently pursuing his bachelor’s degree in the field of Public Health from Maharajgunj Medical Campus, IOM. He believes success lies in limitless efforts that we put forward in reaching our destination. He always had keen interest in public service and welfare and that's the reason why he applied for membership of visible impact. He also feels that individually one might not be able to make a change but when together it is possible. And hopefully, we can support to build a healthy society.
