Bandana, a woman from a small village, has been struggling with infertility for six years. Despite her best efforts, she has not been able to conceive.

A young girl who just turned 11 had her very first period. It was another chilly winter day, one that was followed by days and days without the sight of the sun as is typical for the lowlands of Nepal. ‘’It’s already late now. Tutoring students is quite a task till 8 pm. On top of that, this electricity cut’’, she said to herself. Her heart had already skipped a beat in that dark. When I was a young teenager, my best friend at the time came to me and told me that her uncle was “doing things” to her he should not be doing. She made me promise not to tell anyone.
