“My aim is to be a doctor” Sarita replied to my question with an excitement. She was in grade 7. She was beautiful, affable and charming. Brilliant, hardworking, enthusiastic little girl used to stand first in her class. She was my neighbor. Preparing meals, preparing her brothers and herself for school, feeding cattle, cleaning the surrounding etc was her daily activities. She used to grab her book as soon as she got chance to study. We used to go to school together. I was in grade 10. She was worried about her career and often used to talk about our social stigmas. Mother’s love, yes, it is pure, true and cannot be compared to anything. Mothers always see their children young and juvenile. They are happiest when their children eat more and more. They never realize that their children are already obese or overweight. Here, I am not blaming mothers love and care, but I am just from where the obesity begins.
When the child becomes bigger in width as comparable to the height, we call it obese or overweight. Nepalese society considers being bigger is healthier and happier but they don’t have any idea about what sorts of health problems such perceptions can result in future.

Don’t shed tears for the unknown
For they only hold vivid imaginations.
Don’t reminisce in the past,
It only reflects the time gone by.
Let’s learn to live in the present,
A reality we ought to embrace.
The sun offers its warmth,
The trees its’ cool breeze,
The rich offer their wealth
While only the poor offer their heart and soul.
Poor in riches, rich in love,

For the hatred and neglect you have to offer.
