The constitution of Nepal promogulated in September 2015, declared Nepal as a federal republican country with autonomous and decentralized governance. In essence, health care system is a major concern from ground level. Health is legally considered as basic human right of public by the Constitution of Nepal. I am basically a student of Public Health. I study in Institute of Medicine, actually called teaching hospital by common people. For the people of my village, just being a student in the prestigious “Teaching Hospital” is a feat in itself. They see me as a Qualified medical person, just because I am studying in a medical college. However, I am just a “Public Health Activist”.
I’m presenting this context here because last month one of my villagers called me and told me that his wife has been suffering from serious problem and he is here at “Teaching Hospital”. They were expecting me to help them with the clinical checkup. But I didn’t know anythin.....

Mother’s love, yes, it is pure, true and cannot be compared to anything. Mothers always see their children young and juvenile. They are happiest when their children eat more and more. They never realize that their children are already obese or overweight. Here, I am not blaming mothers love and care, but I am just from where the obesity begins.
When the child becomes bigger in width as comparable to the height, we call it obese or overweight. Nepalese society considers being bigger is healthier and happier but they don’t have any idea about what sorts of health problems such perceptions can result in future.
