"Men’s Role in Menstruation"
Menstruators' body physiology has long been ignored despite the fact that it is vital and significant. If one is unaware of his role in maintaining it, males' concealed role worsens it. Because boys don't bleed, and because they've been made to feel as though they have nothing to do with it while they have bigger roles to perform, the culture we are linked to has made men's roles in menstruation invisible.
Men’s role in menstruation is basically reflected in three interlinked tiers i.e. nation, community, and family. At the national level, men play an indirect role in making menstruation easier and healthier, they are responsible to develop menstrual friendly policies and programs that can address the menstrual needs of menstruators as the world’s trend shows that men occupy most of the space in the parliament. Their every decision influences the entire process of how the menstrual-friendly environment is created in a country, how menstrual-friendly services are made accessible, and the efforts that are to be made to reduce the stigma related to menstruation.
At the community level, men as an integral part of society can be a change agent. Men can create awareness about menstruation and encourage them to adopt healthy practices. They can act as an advocating agent to break the stereotype related to menstruation that forbids menstruators from celebrating festivals that they are eager for throughout the year. An individual man’s involvement simply sets an example for thousands of other men to just realize that they have a role to play and step ahead to perform one.
Men perform the most important position in the household, and menstruation knocks on one's door with pain and distress. It's a time when you get unwavering love, care, and support, which makes discomforts go away. A man can therefore provide a lot of assistance throughout. They can assist menstruators with their domestic duties and everyday activities, ensure that a budget is set aside for menstrual products in their monthly expenses, and foster a climate where menstruation can be discussed in an open manner. Similarly, to make menstruation easier and healthier, ensure that the tools and food you need are readily available. The most important thing is to always love and care for someone.
In summary, we can say that menstruation is simpler and healthy enough when males are involved. Sensitization is necessary to ensure their participation, thus. Men's roles can be included in the school curriculum at the appropriate levels, awareness campaigns, activism, and films like Pad Man can all help to sensitize men to their involvement in menstruation. Menstruation can be made more interesting to males, and their participation can be guaranteed, by doing this.
