There are different types of social problems in Nepal among which girls trafficking, Kidnapping, thieving, murder, rape case etc. Among these gender imbalances between male and female is also one of them. We can find different religion and tradition in Nepal due to which there is discriminatory behavior towards women. We can see clearly that the women in our society are backward. Due to such discrimination the economic status and development of our country is backward.

No matter how much we talk about equality, we can clearly see differentiation of behavior between male and female in our society as well as family. From the beginning, there is a tradition of educating male child but girls are being engaged in domestic works. Now, after the government has created awareness, girls are going to school but still there is discrimination in the level of education provided. The situation may not be same in all family but we can see the discrimination in most of the family.

Girls are regarded as the property of others so they think education is not necessary for them. There is still dowry system in some society. Women are violated in the name of dowry by their husband.

We can see the discrimination even in the government offices, agricultural work and other policies. Men can do any types of work but women are regarded as manner less in our society if they want to become independent. Still our society is male dominated. Women are forced to tolerate the violence by men. There is a belief that wife should respect their husband, no matter how much they are being violated by their husband. In our society, women don’t even get the opportunity to explore their skills and capacity.

In our society, men can go to abroad for job and do the work as they like. But if women go to abroad and do work they are considered that they have bad character. In our society, women are considered as toy and they are asked about their prestige in every situation.

It is clearly known that if women remain backward, the development of country is not possible. So for the better development of our country women should be given proper education and opportunity to develop their capacity and skills. It is the time to end gender imbalances between men and women for betterment of country.
