Introduction
This Project is a youth-centered Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) initiative that incorporates mental health into SRHR, designed to place young people at the heart of community change in collaboration with HAMI (Holistic Approach for Mental). The project empowers trained peer educators to lead school- and community-based learning sessions, ensuring that accurate, rights-based, and age-appropriate SRHR information reaches adolescents and young people. By strengthening peer leadership, the project promotes informed decision-making, positive attitudes, and safe health-seeking behaviors related to SRHR, menstrual health, and mental well-being.
Major Activities
- Training of Trainers (ToT):
A four-day intensive Training of Trainers was conducted for 10 peer educators, equipping them with knowledge, facilitation skills, and rights-based SRHR approaches linking with Mental health implications.
The trained peer educators were organized into 5 groups, with 2 peer educators in each group, to ensure effective teamwork and peer-led facilitation in selected Schools. Each group will be conducting 12 sessions in school settings, covering key SRHR topics including Menstrual Health and Hygiene, Family Planning and Contraception, Safe Abortion and Legal Rights, Gender Norms and Bodily Autonomy, Sexual and Gender-Based Violence etc.
Our Impact
Strengthening the capacity of 10 trained peer educators to serve as SRHR and Mental health change agents in their communities.
