"Visim completes the Storytelling Workshop at Kharanitar"
Visim successfully completed a one-day workshop on Storytelling at Kharanitar VDC of Nuwakot. The objective of the workshop was to equip the social champions girls of Girls: Better after quake with story telling skills, so that they can be expressive to share their post earthquake story in the most apt way and persuade change makers to support them.
Through participatory approaches like interaction, games and discussions, the 14 adolescent girls aged 12-19 years were able to create wonderful stories of their experiences at the end.
Infact, the conference was the first exposure of this kind for many girls. "We were able to learn many new things in the workshop. We loved the games mostly" shared one of the participant during the workshop evaluation.
Ms. Sharmila Acharya,one of the facilitator of the workshop shared, "We were skeptical about the girls of that age to open up and participate actively, as they seemed shy in the beginning. By the end of the day, they were so passionate and active that I was surprised myself. I am hopeful that we can unleash the citizen journalist in these girls soon."
